Projects that seem easy often aren't. Some projects that seem to be very consistent sometimes need extraordinary help sonically or technically. There are exceptions of course, but generally..... If the masters have been well documented, and the mixes have been chosen, and there are not any surprise noises or defects found and the sequence is relatively stable and the decision between Analog Eq and Digital Eq can be made quickly, and one member of the band doesn't choose the mastering session as the point in time where he/she proclaims " I never liked any of these mixes"... and you still have your sense of humor intact.... Then I can complete an album (first version) in one - sometimes long - day session. (phew)
